Israel Blocks Gaza Aid as Winter Rains Worsen Palestinian Suffering

Winter rains in Gaza have made life even harder for displaced Palestinians who are already suffering from the ongoing crisis. Thousands of tents collapsed or flooded after the first rainfall, leaving people without proper shelter. In these difficult conditions, Israel blocks Gaza aid supplies, making it impossible for families to receive the help they urgently need. Many Palestinians are still waiting under the open sky for food, warm clothing, and basic support.

Israel has once again stopped the entry of tents and other relief goods into Gaza. Because of the cold weather, heavy rain, and lack of resources, Palestinians are forced to live inside wet and damaged tents. With no proper protection, many families, including children and elderly people, are facing harsh winter conditions.

There is no system in Gaza to control or redirect rainwater, causing the camps to flood quickly. To protect their tents, Palestinians have started digging small ditches around them to stop water from entering. Despite these efforts, many shelters remain unsafe and soaked.

According to UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, enough aid is available to help around 1.3 million Palestinians, but Israel is blocking its delivery. The head of UNRWA said that in freezing temperatures and constant rain, humanitarian aid is more necessary than ever. People staying in damaged buildings also fear that the weak structures could collapse at any time.

Meanwhile, Israel continues to violate the Gaza ceasefire agreement. In Gaza City’s Zeitoun area, Red Cross teams and al-Qassam Brigades resumed their search for the body of a missing captive. Israel also handed over 15 more bodies of Palestinians, bringing the total to 330 returned so far. As the crisis deepens and Israel blocks Gaza aid supplies, the suffering of displaced families continues to grow with every passing day.
